Let’s face it the real estate on Isle of Palms SC is fairly expensive and most of us can’t afford a second home we could own and care for by ourselves and that’s where interval ownership (a.ka.) fractional properties come in. The good news is also most people do not have but a few weeks available for time off from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, school, work vacation etc anyway so fractions fill that void. Most all the fractional properties for sale in Charleston SC, Wild Dunes Resort, & Kiawah Island golf Resort are in gated communities, but there are a few in Folly Beach from time to time. Owning a fraction is NOT like a timeshare in that you actually get a deeded piece of true ownership, and although you are essentially sharing time you do actually own it along with other people. You will have monthly dues that cover your fraction’s portion of the expenses such as taxes, maid services, insurances, HOA & regime dues etc.  Almost ALL fractional condos and homes will function the same way in that you will NOT get consecutive back to back weeks but instead you will get a week or two (depending on size of the fraction) split up between all the seasons. Depending on which development your property is located will determine if you can bring a dog (usually not if condo/villa), and depending on the ownership docs will dictate if you can rent out your piece.
