Daniel Island SC Real Estate For Sale Charleston

Daniel Island real estate gives homeowners just the options they are looking for in affordable price points, in a beautiful setting. Daniel Island is a wonderful little community situated slightly outside of the town of Mount Pleasant, SC and offers a quaint “small town” feel right in the fairly large metro area of Charleston SC. Development began in 1996, Daniel Island is 4000 acres with 23 miles of waterways, 15 miles from Charleston’s historic district and 8 miles from the airport. Daniel Island has its own schools that are very sought after to get into, sports fields, parks, running trails, tennis facilities, two private golf courses, and of course restaurants and shops. Should you want to go to the beach, it isn’t but 15-20 mins to Isle of Palms or Sullivan’s island. Daniel Island (29492) is home to the the tennis arena where the Family Circle Cup is held each year along with many national music artist concerts.

PROS

Has a wonderful feeling of “small safe town” because of its island connotation. Due to the requirements of the local island architectural review board, the well-maintained parks and landscaping ensures the island community retains is distinct clean and manicured look. You don’t have to worry about unkempt yards, dirty streets, unruly neighbors, or tacky designed homes. It is situated next to I526, major highway that takes you to Mount Pleasant and downtown in one direction, and N. Charleston, the airport, interstate 26, and West Ashley in the other direction. If you like to do concerts, the Daniel Island tennis center is host to year-around concerts of major national, and regional musical artists like Zac Brown Southern Ground Tour, OAR, Darius Rucker, Boston, Earth, Wind, & Fire, just to name a few.

CONS

As a standard; homes are about 10% more on Daniel Island than homes in Mt Pleasant, the neighboring community that is very similar in feel and closer to town. If you like downtown Charleston and want to be close to it, then Daniel Island isn’t for you. It’s about thirty mins or more to downtown. Considering I526 is a bridge with only 2 lanes for most of the way, if there is ever any sort of car accident then it’s very difficult to get onto or off the island. There are only a few restaurants on the island so having a lot to choose from in the way of dining out close to home will get old quick, but on the bright side, you are close enough to Mount Pleasant not to be too bothered. As far as entertainment, there also isn’t much to do on Daniel Island, but bike and walk around, go to the park, play tennis or play golf at one of their two private courses.
