Summerville South Carolina is about 30 mins north of the city of Charleston, and offers a lot in the way of affordable housing options. Most of the Charleston regions industrial and manufacturing jobs are in the Summerville, and North Charleston area so many people who work for these large corporations prefer to live in these communities. Housing is on average about $100,000 cheaper than the other popular suburban communities such as Mt Pleasant or James Island. Summerville is home to two country club communities: Pine Forest & Legend Oaks, with one other non-country club golf community Wescott Plantation.
